“Fishing”
Emily is a 1st year student in Rotman Commerce and this is a piece she created using #mixedmedium (chalk pastels, pencil colours, markers).
She says “Throughout the summer, [she] and [her] parents went on numerous fishing trips - and didn't catch a single fish . So [she] decided to capture one through [her] drawing instead.” Emily’s piece is very creative and has a wonderful story behind it. Thank you Emily for submitting this amazing piece of art!

Ana Garza
“Coffee Shoppe”
Ana is a 4th year student and this is a piece she illustrated.
She says she “has been drawing and painting for as long as [she] can remember and these past few years [she] focused more on creating illustrations and doodle art! From this, [she] create original black and white wall art prints as well as paper goods”. Ana’s current pieces focus on drawing the everyday life in interior spaces and this piece kick started her illustration journey! Thank you Ana for submitting this amazing piece of art!

Kexin is a 3rd year student double majoring in Mathematics and Statics, and she crocheted this cute set in the summer!

“Sanctuary”
Shenwei is a 2nd year student in the Biology and Psychology program, and this is a piece she created using #acrylic. She says she “created [this piece] for an art exhibit called Renewed Perspectives, this painting represents an escape from imprisonment.” This is a truly beautiful piece of art!

“My Gran and I”
Eunha is a 4th year student pursuing a Bachelor of Information, and this is a piece she created using #acrylic for her grandma in Korea.
She says she “grew up in [her] grandma’s hands, and she’s like the closest friend to her”. Eunha recently flew back to Korea to keep her grandma company. We hope you’re doing well there!

“Never Zip-up”
Filza is a 4th year Life Science student, and she used makeup and paints to create this stunning piece!
The main inspiration behind this empowering piece was the Black Lives Matter movement. She describes it as “a reminder for [herself] to never shut up and always fight for what’s right!”, powerful words that all of us should stand by.

Michael is an incoming 1st year student from the US planning on double majoring in Physiology and Biochemistry! His piece above is a 36 x 36 inch acrylic painting. In his words, “Each of the 5 swans represents a stage of our life. I will let you interpret what those stages are based on your personal experiences.”
